The Wanshou Palace Ancient Architectural Complex, the largest of its kind in China, is a cultural tourism site. Wanshou Palace is located at the northern end of Shiqian County. Initially constructed in the early Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, it underwent major renovations during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty and additional repairs in the Qianlong era, covering a total area of 3,800 square meters. The palace gate, designed like a traditional archway, is majestic and grand, while the main hall and passageway hall face west and are positioned to the east. The complex is divided into three main courtyards: the theater stage, the main hall, and the flower garden. The entire structure is made of wood, inlaid with various brick carvings of flowers, birds, insects, fish, and animals, all exquisitely vivid. The theater stage features upturned eaves and ridge ornaments, with numerous high-relief carvings on the upper and lower beams depicting scenes such as the “Dragons Playing with a Pearl” and stories from the “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” The decorations include green floral patterns, red wooden elements, and golden human figures. Wanshou Palace is currently one of the best-preserved and largest palace complexes in China, and it is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
