Also known as the Huguang Guild Hall, Yuwang Palace is currently under renovation, but the brick carvings above its lintel are remarkably exquisite. In the early years of the Republic of China, Yuwang Palace developed into a bustling market. The streets on both sides of Xiashi back then were lined with shops just like this. During market days, merchants and caravans gathered in droves, and goods from all over the country filled the streets for trade.
