Yangasha is revered as the Goddess of Beauty by the Miao people. The legend of Yangasha is still widely told in the Qingshui River area around Jianhe in Guizhou Province. She symbolizes the Miao people’s celebration of love and admiration for life. Today, within Jianhe County, you can still find the legendary well where Yangasha was born, the hot spring where she bathed, and the lake where she swam. Jianhe Hot Spring is located 20 kilometers from Jianhe County in Kaili City, Guizhou Province, right beside National Highway 320, and just 1 kilometer from the Tianmen Cave Scenic Area. The hot springs lie at the foot of the mountain. Originally there were over ten hot spring sources; now six remain. The spring water is crystal clear, with a flow rate of 10 liters per second. The temperature of each spring varies from 38°C to 50°C. All are rich in the trace radioactive element radon, hence they are known as radon springs.
