Guiyang Cuiwei Garden

Cuiwei Garden is located on the south bank of the Nanming River, outside Danan Gate in Guiyang, to the south of Fuyu Bridge and adjacent to Jiaxiu Tower. Originally built during the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty (1488–1505), it was initially called Nanan Hermitage, later renamed Wuhou Shrine and then Guanyin Temple, before being renamed Cuiwei Garden after renovations in 1993.

Cuiwei Garden is a large-scale complex of ancient buildings. Within the garden, the Gongnan Pavilion features a simple yet vivid design; Cuiwei Pavilion is elegant and graceful; the Qinghua Kongcui Garden is adorned with swaying bamboo; and the Longmen Academy is quiet and shaded by dense foliage. It now serves as an exhibition hall for the works of Xiao Xian, a renowned female calligrapher from Guiyang and a disciple of Kang Youwei.

Adjacent to Jiaxiu Tower in the southern part of the city, Cuiwei Garden is a large-scale complex of ancient buildings covering an area of over 4,000 square meters. Originally built during the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty (1488–1505), it is now a municipal-level key cultural relics protection unit.

The Gongnan Pavilion in the garden has a simple yet vivid design, Cuiwei Pavilion is elegant and graceful, the Qinghua Kongcui Garden is filled with swaying bamboo, and the Longmen Academy is quiet under thick shade. The surrounding corridors and floral walls integrate tranquility, elegance, grandeur, and simplicity.
