Attraction Introduction

The Guizhou Provincial Ethnic Museum is located in the Ethnic Culture Palace building, one of the landmark structures in Guiyang. The museum primarily displays traditional costumes, silver ornaments, production tools, daily necessities, as well as ethnic literature and ancient books from the 17 indigenous ethnic minorities in Guizhou, showcasing the culture and history of the province’s various ethnic groups.

The Guizhou Provincial Ethnic Museum is a free public museum, with exhibition halls located on the second and third floors of the Ethnic Culture Palace building. Here, you can view photo-text introductions to the various ethnic minorities in Guizhou, as well as clothing, accessories, masks, musical instruments, handmade crafts, farming implements, furniture, and cooking utensils that reflect the characteristics of each ethnic group. There are also permanent exhibits such as related photography works and folk paintings.

The museum also regularly hosts a variety of special exhibitions, including themed displays of ethnic costumes, photography showcases, art exhibitions, and more. Visitors can gain deeper insights into the many facets of Guizhou's indigenous ethnic minorities, including the Miao, Bouyei, Dong, Tujia, Yi, Gelao, and Shui peoples.
