The Guizhou Science and Technology Museum is a base for science education and outreach.

The Guizhou Science and Technology Museum is located at No. 48 Ruijin South Road, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, with a construction area of 14,800 square meters. Its main building features an innovative design that vividly reflects the theme of continuous advancement in science and technology. The museum's exhibition layout centers around the themes of "Nature, Wisdom, and the Future." The exhibition halls consist of five major themed zones: the Children's Science Park, Astronomy and Geography, Wonders of Life, Science Exploration, and the Land of Guizhou. The 397 exhibits (sets) are characterized by their scientific accuracy, educational value, interactivity, and artistic design, showcasing a clever integration of science and aesthetics, technology and art, as well as natural sciences and social sciences. The Guizhou Science and Technology Museum is a comprehensive science education venue that combines exhibitions, training, experiments, and film screenings. It serves as an innovative teaching base for science communication and technology education, as well as a key infrastructure for showcasing modern technology, promoting scientific innovation, popularizing scientific knowledge, and improving the public’s scientific and cultural literacy. It is a comprehensive, modern, and locally distinctive provincial-level science and technology museum.

The Guizhou Science and Technology Museum was one of the ten key projects identified by the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government in 1999. Construction officially began on October 31, 2002. It covers a land area of 4,480 square meters, with a total construction area of 15,000 square meters and an exhibition and education area of 8,000 square meters, representing a total investment of 90.8 million yuan. According to Ren Xiangsheng, Vice Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Association for Science and Technology, the exhibition and education theme of the Guizhou Science and Technology Museum is "Nature, Wisdom, and the Future." Based on this theme, the museum has set up five major thematic exhibition areas—"Astronomy and Geography," "Wonders of Life," "Science Exploration," "Children's Science Park," and "Land of Guizhou"—along with 14 supporting exhibition areas, featuring over 350 exhibits. The museum prominently highlights the distinctive local characteristics of Guizhou, showcasing the province's rich resources in terms of plateau culture, geography, tourism, culture, energy, and ecology, as well as the ingenuity and advanced technological achievements of the people of Guizhou.
