Immortal's Cave

The only Taoist site in Guiyang, with a history of over 700 years. It is located on Qixia Mountain, about 2 kilometers southeast of downtown Guiyang. Legend has it that immortals once lived here, hence the name Immortal's Cave. The ancient architecture at Immortal's Cave currently includes the Hall of the Three Pure Ones. The hall has three levels: the ground floor enshrines the Supreme Old Lord, the Primordial Heavenly Worthy, and the Jade Emperor Heavenly Worthy; the middle level is the Scripture Depository, and the third level is the Jade Emperor Pavilion. To the south of this lies the Hall of the Three Officials, built in the 12th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1673). Further south is the Eight Immortals Pavilion, which offers a view of the Guiyang cityscape.
