Yankong Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Zone
Yankong agricultural tourism features farmsteads scattered across fields and woodlands as well as large-scale sightseeing agriculture, along with a rich array of natural scenery, ethnic and folk culture, and hot spring tourism resources.
Yankong Town governs one street and 36 villages, making it the second most populous town in the county. The area is shaped like a "snail" in the process of crawling, stretching 23.62 kilometers from east to west, with a width of 14.68 kilometers from north to south in the eastern part, and only 4.25 kilometers in the western section. It consists of low hills, foothill plateaus, and river valley plains, with expansive farmland and many rocky hills, belonging to the Dalou Mountain Range at an elevation of around 1,200 meters. Baiyun Mountain, the source of the Dalou Mountains, is said to be the dwelling place of immortals and historically hosted temples such as the Jade Emperor Pavilion. A climb of 630 meters from Yankong Street to the mountain top (with 420 meters already paved with cement road) offers a prime spot for watching the sunrise. During the 17th to 19th days of the 2nd, 6th, and 9th lunar months, visitors flock here from places like Jinsha, Zunyi, and Renhuai. To the south of Yankong Street lies the natural Longquan Pool, which is used not only for drinking but also irrigates over a thousand acres of farmland. The town has over 30 kilometers of canals running from west to east and south, drawing water from Qinghe Reservoir to irrigate more than ten thousand acres of fields. Crops are grown twice a year, with main produces including rice, rapeseed, wheat, and flue-cured tobacco.
Yankong Mineral Water is located at the old bridge on the southern slope of Gaojiapo in Jinbai Village, 2 kilometers south of Yankong Town. In 1984, after investigation and testing led by the Hydrology Department of the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, it was certified as high-quality natural mineral water suitable for beverages. Physical properties: colorless, tasteless, crystal clear, with a water temperature of 28°C and a flow rate of 22.93 liters per second (equivalent to 1,981.5 tons per day). Chemical characteristics: pH value of 7.43, classifying it as neutral water; hardness of 14.43 German degrees, considered slightly hard water. Free carbon dioxide (CO₂) content is 13.32 mg/L, oxygen consumption 0.334 mg/L, indicating high self-purification capacity. The water type is calcium-magnesium bicarbonate (H₂
CO₂-Mg
Ca). Mineralization level is 0.449 g/L, classifying it as low-sodium light mineral water. Silica (Si
O₂) content is 16.57 mg/L, and radon level reaches 6.12 Mach/L, both meeting beverage mineral water standards. It also contains over 30 types of trace elements such as boron, trivalent chromium, copper, zinc, manganese, iodine, scandium, beryllium, potassium, iron, molybdenum, and germanium.
Yujingou is located at the junction of Jinsha, Zunyi, and Renhuai, a small tributary of the Chishui River, covering an area of over 40 square kilometers. The valley is densely forested with rare tree ferns, cascading waterfalls, traditional Miao ethnic villages, and legendary sites such as the Wu King Cave.
