Lecun Xigou Site (Second Batch of Provincial-Level Protected Sites)

Era: Paleolithic Age

Location: Lecun Xigou, Gaixian Town, approximately 11 km northwest of Quwo County

12 km north of Ding Village. Discovered in 1956, with two small-scale excavations carried out in July of the same year and in 1983. In July 1956, Jia Lanpo and others conducted surveys and excavations, recovering 172 stone artifacts, including stone cores, flakes, choppers, scrapers, points, and stone balls. Based on stratigraphic features, animal fossils, and the characteristics of the lithic artifacts, its cultural attributes are closely related to the Dingcun Culture.
