Nanlinjiao Longquan Temple is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Period: Yuan to Qing Dynasties

Nanlinjiao Longquan Temple is located in Nanlinjiao Village, Beidong Township, Quwo County. The exact date of its construction is unknown. According to an inscription on the ridge purlin of the main hall, it was built during the Yuan Dynasty (1318), and underwent multiple renovations during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The temple faces south and currently consists of a screen wall, the main hall, and east and west wing rooms. Among these, the main hall is a Yuan Dynasty structure, the screen wall is from the Ming Dynasty, and the east and west wing rooms were built during the Qing Dynasty.

Along the central axis from south to north are the screen wall, the main hall, and the east and west wing rooms on either side. The main hall has five bays in width and six rafters in depth, measuring 12.5 meters in overall width and 19.8 meters in overall depth. It features a single-eave, hanging hip roof with tubular and flat tiles and glazed ridge ornaments. The front eaves wall has been modified by later generations, and its original state no longer exists. The front eaves column capitals have bracket sets that transition inward. The bracket arms have a slight curve, and the bracket sets are relatively simple. The roof structure follows the principle of lifting the inner columns by about 1 meter, with the middle bay significantly higher than the side bays. The middle bay's ceiling is exposed, showcasing the wooden structure. The upper parts of the bracket sets in the side bays feature carved patterns, and the middle and side bays present a layered spatial effect. The interior bracket bases are inscribed with the date of the fifth year of a certain reign.

The upper parts of the interior columns have rolled tenons, and the column plinths retain line-engraved patterns. The outer eaves columns show a distinct upward taper. An inscription from the fifth year of a certain era is found on the ridge beam inside the hall.

The main hall of Nanlinjiao Longquan Temple has a clear date of construction, exhibits prominent architectural features of the Yuan Dynasty, and holds significant historical value.

In May 2013, Nanlinjiao Longquan Temple was designated as part of the seventh group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
