Qingyi River

The Qingyi River is located in Sichuan Province. It originates from Shuxiyang (at an elevation of 4,930 m) between Balang Mountain and Jiajin Mountain in the Qionglai Mountain Range. After flowing through Baoxing and joining the Tianquan River and Yingjing River at Feixian Pass, it is officially called the Qingyi River. It then passes through Ya'an, Hongya, and Jiajiang before merging with the Dadu River at Caoxiedu in Leshan. The upper section of the Qingyi River, above Feixian Pass, is considered the upstream portion, with a river length of

147 km and a catchment area of 8,750 km². The middle and lower sections, below Feixian Pass, have a river length of

142 km and a catchment area of 4,147 km². The total length of the main stream is 289 km.

At the famous scenic spot in Lushan — behind the incense-filled Futu Mountain and beneath the Siyan Bridge — lies a wide river beach. This beach is embraced year-round by the clear, emerald-green waters of the Qingyi River. Viewed from the foot of the pagoda atop Futu Mountain, the beach resembles a semi-circular island. The Qingyi River Drifting Island is built on this beach.

Built along the river beach while preserving its original landscape, the drifting island features an open-air swimming pool, fishponds, leisure tea houses, restaurants, and sandy beaches. Activities include beach camping, beachside tea seating, fishing in the river for local fish, bonfire barbecues, and immersing yourself in natural fun. Getting back to nature here will surely leave you enchanted.

The Qingyi River drifting route spans approximately 15 kilometers. The clear drifting section of the river flows turbulently all year round. Lush mountains surround both banks, with steep cliffs, dense forests, and vast green seas. The blue sky and white clouds are reflected in the water. In the shallow areas, the riverbed is crystal clear, while in the deeper parts, it resembles jade and emeralds, with fish and shrimp playing in the water. Drifting through this jade-like river, you’ll be captivated by the ever-changing scenery along the banks. Exciting yet safe, with no real danger, you’ll hear birds chirping among the green hills as you float downstream, leaving you relaxed and joyful.
