Stone Carvings of Bodhisattva Field

The Stone Carvings of Bodhisattva Field is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Stone Carvings of Bodhisattva Field were unearthed in 1993 at "Bodhisattva Field" (as commonly called by villagers), located in Zhongcunba, Rechao Village, Yangyang Town, Xingwen County. This site is the ruins of the ancient ancient Rongzhou City from the Ming Dynasty. Xingwen County established the "Ancient Rongzhou City Historical Relics Exhibition Hall" at the excavation site to protect the carvings. A total of 26 statues were found, with heights ranging from 0.61 to 1.49 meters, most around 0.80 meters, and shoulder widths between 0.21 and 0.55 meters. Aside from one statue of Maitreya and one of a disciple, all depict civil official figures wearing official hats, court robes, with solemn expressions, and holding ceremonial tablets. Some bear inscribed dates, such as "the 16th year of the Jiajing era (1537)."

The Ming Dynasty stone carvings of Bodhisattva Field feature well-proportioned figures and vivid imagery, with clear inscribed dates, making them of high historical and artistic value. In July 2000, they were designated as a cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Xingwen County.
