Liangshuiwan Scenic Area

Liangshuiwan Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Liangshuiwan Scenic Area is located in Mao Village, Gongle Town, Xingwen County, about 12 kilometers from the county town and 6 kilometers from the Jiuching exit of the Yixi Expressway. It is a premium cultural tourism destination that combines history exhibitions, cultural experiences, and leisure tourism. The core area spans 1 square kilometer and features key family tradition culture sites such as the Family Tradition Culture Square, Ancient Family Tradition Garden, Modern Family Tradition Corridor, Contemporary Family Tradition Garden, Family Precepts Culture Square, Family Virtue Culture Square, and Family Tradition Hall. The entire scenic area presents a three-dimensional history of family tradition culture and is the largest family tradition-themed tourist attraction in southern Sichuan.

The first floor of the Family Tradition Hall is divided into a cultural lecture hall, family tradition exhibition area, reception room, and ten themed restaurants. “To teach children well, remember these ten ancient family traditions.” Based on ten traditional family values, ten themed restaurants have been created. The site hosts various family tradition activities such as moral forums on family values, cultural lectures reciting family precepts, spiritual red packets passing down family treasures, and gourmet banquets featuring family feasts. These activities combine the concept of “family” with local filial piety culture, farming-literati culture, and integrity culture, aiming to actively promote the dissemination of Xingwen’s local farming-literati traditions and family rules and precepts culture.

“The highest goodness is like water,” a quote from Laozi: “The highest goodness is like water, which benefits all things without contending.” It means that the highest form of virtue resembles the nature of water—nourishing all things without competing for fame or profit. A commonly used couplet goes, “Loyalty and honesty carry a family far; poetry and books sustain a lineage long” (or “Farming and scholarship carry a family far; poetry and books benefit the world long”), emphasizing the inheritance of a family’s culture and values.

The Ruoshui Pavilion, built by the water, utilizes existing waterside pavilions to host activities such as calligraphy and painting exhibitions, competitions, and lessons, as well as inviting master artists and enthusiasts to paint on-site.

Gongle Town: Located on the southern edge of the Sichuan Basin, Gongle Town lies 12 kilometers west of Xingwen County and at the junction of Xingwen County and Jiang’an County, covering an area of 54 square kilometers. The town administers 15 administrative villages, 1 community, and 170 production teams, with a total population of 42,000. The terrain consists of a combination of plains and shallow hills, with fertile land, mild climate, abundant rainfall, and distinct seasons. Major rivers in the town include the Gongle River and Dongyang River. Gongle Town is known for producing rice, corn, rapeseed, wheat, peanuts, and sweet potatoes, and is also suitable for mulberry cultivation, sericulture, and growing economic fruit trees.
