Introduction to Yibin Tianchi Park Located in the western suburbs, 9 kilometers from the city center. The Tianchi Pool was historically known as Dianchi, Lingbo Pool, and also called West Lake. A massive rock in the middle, shaped like a bridge, divides the pool into two sections: the inner pool spans one li in width and five li in length, while the outer pool spans one li in width and three li in length, with water depths of several zhang. There are various theories about the formation of Tianchi—some say it resulted from changes in the course of the Jinsha River, while others attribute it to earthquakes causing the land to sink. The pool is covered with lotus flowers, both red and white, large and vibrant, and the lotus roots produced here are snow-white, tender, and delicious. "Tianchi Lotus Root Powder" remains famous far and wide to this day. The beauty of Tianchi has been documented and celebrated in poetry and prose since the Song Dynasty. The park features a winding arched bridge that creates two lake surfaces, upper and lower. Each lake has its own island, and the lower lake has two peninsulas, giving the area a mysterious and serene appearance. The meandering lakeside embankment is built entirely of stone slabs, standing over two meters high. Along the shore is a one-meter-wide cement path lined with lush trees whose green foliage reflects beautifully on the water. When the breeze blows, the lake sparkles with shimmering light.
