Li Zhuang Yuhuang Palace (Huiguang Temple)

Li Zhuang Yuhuang Palace (Huiguang Temple) is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Li Zhuang Yuhuang Palace, located in Li Zhuang Town, Cuiping District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China, was built in the 11th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1831), covering a construction area of 2,200 square meters. It is the largest surviving architectural complex from the Qing Dynasty in Li Zhuang Town.

Originally constructed as a guild hall for people from Huguang, Li Zhuang Yuhuang Palace became the wartime headquarters of National Tongji University when it relocated inland to Sichuan during China’s War of Resistance against Japan. After 1949, it was used as a grain storage facility for the Li Zhuang Grain Station, and in 1992 it was converted into a Buddhist temple and renamed Huiguang Temple. In 2007, Li Zhuang Yuhuang Palace was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.
