King Wang Temple in Lizhuang

King Wang Temple in Lizhuang is a cultural tourism attraction.

Also known as Ziyun Palace, King Wang Temple is located on Shanghe Street in Lizhuang, facing south toward the Yangtze River to the north. It covers an area of approximately 1,500 square meters and enshrines the Dragon King Ao Guang of the East Sea.

The exact date of the original construction of King Wang Temple in Lizhuang is unknown, but it was rebuilt by local residents in the 25th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1899). Most towns and cities situated along rivers or lakes built such temples to pray for the Dragon King’s protection, ensuring peace and safeguarding the area from floods.
