Mai Tianguan Mansion

Mai Tianguan Mansion is located in Changhong Village, about 1 kilometer east of Lizhuang Town. Facing east and occupying nearly 4,000 square meters, its construction date remains unknown. According to local elders, the mansion had already been the property of the Zhang family two to three hundred years ago. It originally had a thick outer wall, which was later removed, and now an inner wall encloses all the residences. It consists of four courtyards formed by three patios, with a total of 108 large and small gates. The architecture includes two gardens, one in the front and one in the back. Originally, the gardens were filled with dense trees, including many rare species. The flowers and plants gave off fragrance all year round, creating a pleasant landscape. Today, one yellow orchid tree, several osmanthus trees, red beans, and nanmu trees still remain. Each room in the residence features a sky-floor and ground-mat layout, while the exterior gates are all made of solid fir wood. None of the buildings have visible bolts or locks. When viewed from Tongqian Mountain nearby, the mansion resembles the shape of a spider.
