Former Residence of Zhao Yiman

The former residence of Zhao Yiman is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit, a classic red tourism site, and a patriotic education base.

The former residence of Zhao Yiman is located at Boyangzui, Yiman Group, Yiman Village, Baihua Town, Cuiping District, Yibin City. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it faces south with a north orientation, features a wooden and earthen structure in a hanging gable roof style, and covers a total area of 2,072 square meters, with a construction area of over 1,100 square meters. In 2002, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.

To further strengthen the protection of the former residence of Zhao Yiman, on September 5, 2013, the Xuzhou District initiated a renovation and conservation project for the site, which was completed on August 30, 2014. The main construction has passed inspection by relevant departments.

Supporting projects such as fire safety, security, lightning protection, and exhibition arrangement are currently underway at the former residence of Zhao Yiman. After all works were completed in December 2014, the site was opened to the public free of charge on the birthday of Zhao Yiman.

The former residence of Zhao Yiman covers an area of 600 square meters, faces south with a north orientation, and is a late Qing Dynasty residential building, located 80 kilometers from the county seat of Yibin County. In front of the courtyard on the right side, there are 29 steps of a hanging ramp and 50 steps of a stepped ramp.

The former residence of Zhao Yiman was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Sichuan Province in 2002 and as a municipal-level patriotic education base in 2005.

Protected area: 25 meters eastward, 70 meters southward, 25 meters westward, and 30 meters northward from the central room of the main hall.

Construction control zone: 15 meters eastward, 30 meters southward, 25 meters westward, and 30 meters northward beyond the protected area.

The famous anti-Japanese female hero Zhao Yiman, originally named Li Kuntai, with the courtesy name Shuning, used the name Yichao during her revolutionary activities, and adopted the alias Zhao Yiman while engaged in anti-Japanese resistance in the northeast.

On October 25, 1905, Zhao Yiman was born into a feudal landlord family in Baiyangzui Village in northern Yibin County, Sichuan Province. Her father, Li Hongxu, had purchased the title of "Jiansheng" (a type of scholar) and later taught himself traditional Chinese medicine, treating villagers. Her mother, Lan Mingfu, managed the household. Together they had six daughters and three sons, with Yiman being the seventh child.
