Qiliping International Summer Resort is located in Gaomiao Town, Hongya County, situated southwest of Hongya County and at the western foot of Mount Emei. It is 65 kilometers from the county seat, 3.5 kilometers from Mount Emei, and 58 kilometers from the national forest park, Mount Wawu. With an average altitude of 1,300 meters, the resort is accessible via a three-mountain loop road, ensuring good tourist accessibility. Owing to its strategic transportation and geographical location, coupled with its beautiful environment, high forest coverage rate (95%), pleasant climate (average annual temperature of 12°C), and pure water quality, it is ideal for leisure and vacation, earning the reputation of an “ecological oxygen bar.”

Qiliping is located on the mountainside of Mount Emei, with an annual average temperature of 17°C and a summer average of 24°C. It boasts a vegetation coverage rate of 95%, featuring diverse geological landforms such as deep valleys, gentle slopes, and flatlands, as well as a rich variety of vegetation. It offers abundant pristine landscapes and water systems, with the air rich in negative oxygen ions and its drinking water slightly alkaline. The area is abundant in sulfur hot springs, with naturally sweet and pure spring water. As a crucial connection point on the three-mountain tourism loop of Mount Emei, Mount Wawu, and Mount Zhugong, it is a hidden summer resort paradise tucked behind the Golden Summit of Mount Emei. It is a mountainous leisure and vacation destination integrating “summer retreat, vacation living, hot spring wellness, gourmet shopping, and outdoor sports.”

Emei Semi-Mountain Qiliping is located in the middle section of Mount Emei, just 3.5 kilometers from the Zero Kilometer Point of Mount Emei and only 26 kilometers (10 kilometers as the crow flies) from the mountain’s main attraction, the Golden Summit. Emei Semi-Mountain Qiliping is primarily built upon the rare resources of Mount Emei to create a future mountaineering base camp.

Covering an area of 15,000 mu (approximately 10 square kilometers), the entire Emei Semi-Mountain Qiliping project is shaped like a grandfather chair, backed by Mount Emei and facing the Sichuan Basin, offering excellent feng shui orientation. The site is the only large-scale high-altitude plateau area within the Mount Emei range suitable for development. It features diverse geological landforms such as deep valleys, gentle slopes, and flatlands, along with a rich variety of vegetation and abundant pristine landscapes and water systems. Throughout the development process, the principles of preserving the natural ecology, maintaining high quality, and adhering to international standards were followed. The supporting facilities are comprehensive, and the project has been developed to international standards, integrating a semi-mountain-style town, high-end mountain sports facilities, a hot spring sports club, mountain outdoor activities, and a super five-star hotel into a high-quality tourism and vacation property. The landscape design was created by the UK-based Robinson Company. Based on the natural scenery of Mount Emei and seasonal changes throughout the year, it has crafted a resort lifestyle themed around the four seasons. Here, visitors can admire blooming flowers in spring, escape the heat in summer, view colorful forests in autumn, and enjoy snowscapes and hot springs in winter.

Emei Semi-Mountain Qiliping consists of two major sections. The first is the semi-mountain style town section, centered around a tourism commercial town, hot springs, mountain sports, and vacation villages. It integrates functions such as summer retreat, vacation living, hot spring wellness, gourmet shopping, and outdoor sports. Divided into north and south zones by the central mountain ridge, the north zone adds a wellness culture resort themed around an artists’ village. The second section is the “Semi-Mountain High-Three Sports” area, focusing on high-end mountain sports, consisting of a golf driving range and clubhouse, a super five-star mountain-themed hotel, high-end vacation apartments, and a conference center. This forms a high-end business and vacation mountain resort. The total development period of the project spans 8–10 years, divided into three phases, with the first phase expected to be completed within three years. Emei Semi-Mountain Qiliping has introduced various consumption models that can boost tourism spending and economic growth in Mount Emei. Moreover, as China’s tourism industry transitions from sightseeing to vacation travel, this project aligns with market demand, enhances the supporting infrastructure of Mount Emei, thrives alongside it, and presents strong investment value.

Qiliping sits at an altitude of 1,300–1,500 meters, with an annual average temperature of 17°C and a summer average of 24°C, never exceeding 27°C. It is a natural paradise for leisure and vacation. The air is rich in negative oxygen ions (known to purify blood, cleanse lungs, promote metabolism, regulate endocrine function, ease tension, neutralize the stimulation of positive charges on the human body, and is often called the “longevity vitamin” or “air vitamin”). The drinking water is slightly alkaline (beneficial for preventing and treating stomach diseases, softening blood vessels, and providing strong auxiliary treatment for cardiovascular diseases). There are also high-quality sulfur hot springs (emerging from 1,900 meters underground, effective in treating arthritis and skin conditions). The area also boasts abundant plant and animal resources (with over 3,700 plant species — equivalent to the total flora of Europe, including more than 1,600 medicinal plants). Nature has harmonized a perfect “longevity herbal medicine,” leading to a local population known for longevity and health. The pristine ecological environment is also suitable for a wide range of animals, with over 2,300 species calling it home. This rich biodiversity has earned Mount Emei titles such as the “Paradise of Animals,” the “Ancient Kingdom of Plants,” and the “Geological Museum” since ancient times. Currently, Qiliping has a resident population of about 1,300, including over 50 individuals aged 80 or older and no recorded cases of cancer to date — proof that Qiliping is a natural haven for health and wellness. On clear days, most areas within the project site offer unobstructed views of the Golden Summit of Mount Emei and the Ten-Direction Samantabhadra statue, allowing visitors to bathe in the Buddhist light and enjoy the blessings of the Buddha. Together, these rich natural resources form Qiliping’s pristine wellness environment.

Gaomiao Town: Gaomiao Town is located 53 kilometers southwest of the county seat, covering an area of 234.21 square kilometers. It administers 10 administrative villages — Huayuan, Shuixiu, Zhonghe, Zhenjiang, Yongfeng, Xianwan, Qianchi, Qili, Conglin, and Heishan — with 56 villager groups, as well as one Huaxiyuan Community with 5 resident groups. The total population is 17,300, including 15,800 rural residents. The forest coverage rate is 86%.
