Yinmeng Mountain

Yinmeng Mountain — located on the south bank of the Qingyi River in Hongya County. It was named after Pang Juzheng, a hermit from the Jin Dynasty whose courtesy name was Yinmeng, who once lived in seclusion here. There used to be a stone tablet by the river inscribed with “Relics of the Immortal Pang.” The mountain extends from Bamian Mountain and reaches a hundred-foot cliff by the river, forming a naturally spectacular site. The mountaintop is covered with pine, cypress, and azalea trees. Originally, there were temples such as Chunyang Temple and Linjiang Temple. On the screen wall, Lei Chengyu painted “Scenic Overview of Rivers and Mountains,” accompanied by a couplet: “A thousand boats pay homage at Linjiang Temple” and “Myriad waters and mountains enhance the wall’s radiance,” cleverly linking the “Linjiang Temple,” known as the “one post station of a thousand counties,” with Zeng Biguang, a notable figure from Hongya.

Originally, there was a riverside post station called “Gaozhai Xianyuan” built atop the mountain. It served as lodging for visiting officials and as a scenic spot for locals to enjoy the view. The “Linjiang Evening Ferry,” the foremost of the Eight Scenic Spots of Hongya, is located here.
