The Site of the Red Army’s Four Crossings of the Chishui River in Gulin County is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

1. Red Army Garrison in Taiping Town

Protected Area: East to the residential area of the Taiping Grain Station and the west wall of Taiping Primary School, south to the residence of Xiong Hongchang at the old distillery, north to the residence of Hu Jinhua on Shunhe Street, and west to the archway entrance on Shunhe Street. The area covers approximately 10 hectares.

2. Taipingdu Ferry

Protected Area: East to the residence of Yuan Daimin, south to the Linlang Highway, west to the residence of Jiang Zixiang, and north to Eagle Rock. It stretches 100 meters from east to west and 70 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 7,000 square meters.

3. Erlang Red Army Street

Protected Area: East starting from Tongluowan, west to the Linlang Highway, with a 30-meter extension on both the south and north sides of Red Army Street. It stretches 450 meters from east to west and 90 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 4.05 hectares.

4. Erlangtan Ferry

Protected Area: East to the Erlang Bridge, south to the Linlang Highway, west to the sewage treatment plant, and north to the Chishui River. It stretches 40 meters from east to west and 30 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 1,200 square meters.

5. Former Site of Mao Zedong and the Headquarters in Shuangsha

Protected Area:

Former Site of Mao Zedong’s Garrison: East to the residence of Tang Shulin, 5 meters outside the former site; south bounded by the outer wall of the Shuangsha Town Government, 10 meters outside the former site; west to the old clinic, 12 meters outside the former site; and north to the teachers’ dormitory of Shuangsha Middle School, 17 meters outside the former site. It stretches 33 meters from east to west and 35 meters from north to south, covering an area of 1,155 square meters.

Former Site of the Headquarters: East to the outer wall of the elderly gateball court, 30 meters outside the former site; south to the Datian irrigation channel, 15 meters outside the former site; west to the Shuangsha Town Government building, 1 meter outside the former site; and north bounded by the residence of Xu Guangli, 8 meters outside the former site. It stretches 46 meters from east to west and 30 meters from north to south, covering an area of 1,380 square meters.

6. Battle Site of the Four Crossings of the Chishui River at Guanwen Yunzhuang

Protected Area: East to Baobao Shang, south to the fork point at Sancha Road in Yutangwan, west to Qiaotian, 50 meters beyond the battlefield site, and north to 15 meters beyond the battlefield site (up to the curve of the rural road between Group 5 and Group 6 of Huilong Village). It stretches 400 meters from east to west and 215 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 8.6 hectares.

Construction Control Zone: Bounded by a 50-meter extension outward from the protected area on the east, west, and south, and by a 5-meter extension outward from the protected area on the north.

7. Battlefield Site of the Assault on Zhenlong Mountain

Protected Area: East extending 1.5 kilometers from the current buildings of Longshan Town Government to the former tractor station, south to Longshan Primary School, west to the entrance of Longshan Street Market, and north extending 800 meters from the current Longshan Town Government to Yunpanshan Wanzi Tou. It stretches 2,300 meters from east to west and 900 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 207 hectares.

8. Red Army Village in Yuhua

Protected Area:

Former Site of Mao Zedong’s Garrison: Bounded by a 50-meter extension outward from the building’s footprint.

Former Site of the Headquarters and Military Tribunal: Bounded by a 50-meter extension outward from the former site.

Former Site of the Headquarters of the First and Fifth Corps: Bounded by a 50-meter extension outward from the building’s footprint.

9. Former Site of the Red Army Garrison on LingShang in Jinxing Township

Protected Area: Southeast to the Bijiazhai mountain-looping rural road, 19 meters outside the former site; northwest bounded by 30 meters outside the former site; northeast bounded by 20 meters outside the former site; and southwest bounded by 45 meters outside the former site. It stretches 85 meters from southwest to northeast and 70 meters from northwest to southeast, covering an area of 5,950 square meters.

10. Former Site of the Red Army Garrison at Zhengfeng Temple in Dongxin Township

Protected Area: A 20-meter extension outward on all sides of the former site. It stretches 59 meters from north to south and 52 meters from east to west, covering an area of 3,068 square meters.

11. Former Red Army Garrison Site at Gaigou, Tucheng Township

Protected Area: East to the residence of Wang Xuejun, 25 meters outside the site; south to Taisang Highway, 12 meters outside the site; west to 20 meters beyond the edge of the site’s dam area; north to 20 meters outside the site. The area measures 62 meters from north to south, 58 meters from east to west, covering a total of 3,596 square meters.
