The Nanyan Five-Dragon Temple is located at the northern end of Nanyan Village, Xiyingshi Town, Xiangyuan County. It faces west and has a single-courtyard layout, measuring 25 meters in length from east to west and 19.5 meters in width from north to south, covering an area of 487.5 square meters. The year of its establishment is unknown. According to the “Stele Record of Donations for the Reconstruction of the Ziwēi Pavilion during the Jiaqing Reign of the Qing Dynasty” found in the temple, and an inscription on the ridge beam of the main hall’s central bay, it was renovated in the 25th year of the Jiaqing era (1820) and the 5th year of the Republic of China (1916). The existing main hall is a structure from the Republican era, while the rest date back to the Qing Dynasty. Along the central axis from west to east are a theater stage and the main hall, with additional structures including north and south dressing rooms, east and west side rooms, north and south wing rooms, and a mountain gate located in the northwest corner of the courtyard. The main hall is built on a 0.95-meter-high stone platform, featuring a three-bay width, five-rafter depth, a single-eave flush gable roof, and gray tubular tiles. The beams of the main hall are painted with golden dragons, and it has a six-rafter front-porch style framework, with decorative corbel brackets and unique arches under the eaves. The central bay is fitted with lattice doors, while the side bays have lattice windows—all replaced during a 2008 renovation by the village committee. The theater stage is built on a brick foundation, also three bays wide and five rafters deep, with a single-eave roll-roofed flush gable and gray tubular tiles, featuring a six-rafter framework. One stele is preserved in the temple. This site provides physical material for the study of local Qing Dynasty architecture.

Nanyan Village: Nanyan Village is located in the eastern part of Xiyingshi Town and currently has a population of 446. It administers two natural villages: Nanyan and Gangbei. The Nanyan Village Party Branch has 24 members, including 4 female party members. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, all villagers primarily rely on farming as their main industry, and the village committee has no other sources of income.
