Tea Horse Road - Shawan Post Road

The Tea Horse Road - Shawan Post Road is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Tea Horse Road–Shawan Post Road is located on Shawan Old Street in Jiangyang District, Luzhou City. The Tea Horse Road has been an important trade route for commercial exchanges between the Han, Tibetan, and other ethnic minorities since the Tang and Song dynasties. It primarily involved the tea-for-horse trade and relied on caravan transportation, making it a significant historical and cultural linear heritage with unique value in southwestern China. Luzhou is a key stop along the Sichuan-Guizhou route. The Shawan Post Road connects the Baolian Street Post Road to the north and Nadixi to the south. It features well-preserved ancient docks, post roads, and Ming and Qing dynasty residences. The post road is paved with bluestone slabs and stretches approximately one kilometer in length.

Protected Area: To the east, 5 meters east of the original Shawan Supply and Marketing Cooperative store front; to the south, 5 meters outside the old well; to the west, 5 meters west of the Shawan Viewing Platform; and to the north, 5 meters north of the large yellow jujube tree.

Construction Control Zone: A buffer zone extending 5 meters beyond the Protected Area.
