The Han Family Residence in Wangjiayu is located in Wangjiayu Natural Village, Dianshang Village, Wangcun Town, Xiangyuan County. It faces south and features a single-courtyard layout, measuring 28 meters from north to south and 22 meters from east to west, covering an area of 616 square meters. The exact year of its construction is unclear, but the existing structures date back to the Republican era. Along the central axis from south to north, there are five southern rooms and a row of four main cave dwellings; on both sides, there are three rooms each on the eastern and western sides. The southern rooms are five bays wide and four rafters deep, with a single-eave hanging gable roof and gray clay tiles laid over battens. The central bay features a wooden door with painted lintel, and three-step single-kick bracket sets beneath the eaves. Behind the door is a wooden screen wall inscribed with the character “Fu” (福, meaning “blessing”). The eastern and western rooms are each three bays wide and four rafters deep, with two stories, a single-eave hanging gable roof, and gray clay tiles laid over battens, built in a loft-style structure. The central bays have wooden doors, while the side bays have window fittings. The loft-style architecture is a traditional construction method used in local residences, featuring two-story houses designed according to regional natural conditions and local customs. The ground floor serves daily living functions, while the upper floor provides insulation and storage space. This residence offers important physical evidence for the study of regional residential architecture and holds certain historical and scientific value.
