Former Residence of Li Shizhen in Fengcun

The former residence of Li Shizhen in Fengcun is located to the east of Fengcun Village, Beidi Township, Xiangyuan County. It faces south and measures 47.2 meters from east to west and 35 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 1,652 square meters. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, the identity of the owner is unknown. The surviving structures consist of three parallel, two-courtyard complexes arranged side by side. The central axis includes the main house, east and west wing rooms, and southern rooms. Each courtyard contains three cave dwellings as the main houses, and three brick-and-wood structured wing rooms on the east and west sides, topped with gray tiles. The ridges are ceramic-tiled, featuring flush gable roofs. The lintels and window tops of the east and west rooms are adorned with exquisitely crafted brick carvings. Horse tethering posts can be found both inside and outside the courtyards. This residential complex is relatively well-preserved, with its wood and brick carvings holding considerable artistic value. It features distinct characteristics of traditional local dwellings and has served as a filming location for multiple movies and TV shows.
