Yongzi Stone Bridge

Yongzi Stone Bridge is located north of Yongzi Village, Houpu Town, Xiangyuan County. It is 16.22 kilometers from Xiangyuan County town and surrounded by farmland. The construction date is unknown, but the existing structure dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Oriented from north to south, the bridge is 55 meters long, 3.5 meters wide, and covers an area of 192.5 square meters. It is entirely built with sandstone and features two arches, both constructed using face-laid voussoirs in a longitudinal bonding technique. The original brick parapet on the bridge deck no longer exists. The road where the stone bridge is situated was the only route to the county town before the Republican era, hence the saying “The East Gully Stone Bridge connects all directions.”
