Hezhang Da Bei Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Hezhang Da Bei Temple is located about 50 meters north of Hezhang Village, Xiadian Town, Xiangyuan County. It faces south and has a two-courtyard layout, measuring 27.21 meters from east to west and 46.06 meters from north to south, covering an area of 1,253.29 square meters. According to inscriptions in the temple, it was first built in the first year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1723), and was renovated in the fifth year of the Daoguang reign (1825) and the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931). The existing structures all date back to the Qing Dynasty. Along the central axis from south to north are the mountain gate (a reverse-facing theater stage), the main hall, flanked by the eastern and western dressing towers in the front courtyard, the eastern and western side towers, the bell and drum towers in the rear courtyard, the eastern and western side halls, and the eastern and western corner halls. The mountain gate is a reverse-facing theater stage, three bays wide, six rafters deep, with a single-eave hanging hip roof, a seven-rafter frame, and three-step single downward-bracket bracket sets on the column tops; the fittings have been modified. Inside the temple is a stele recording its establishment in the first year of the Yongzheng reign (1723), and another stele documenting its renovation in the fifth year of the Daoguang reign (1825).

Hezhang Village: Overview of Hezhang Village

Hezhang Village is located 5 kilometers west of Xiadian Town and 15 kilometers from the county seat, adjacent to National Highway 208. Nestled against mountains and near water, it enjoys convenient transportation. The village currently has 168 households with a total population of 686 people; there are 36 Party members, including 10 women; one household is under the Five Guarantees program and six households receive subsistence allowances. The cultivated land area is approximately 2,323 mu, with per capita arable land of around 2.5 mu, mainly used for crop farming. Industrial projects in the village include the 1.8 million ton Shiquan Coal Mine, the 1.2 million ton Shengxiang Coal Washing Plant, and the Hexin Power Plant.
