White Pagoda Scenic Area

The White Pagoda Scenic Area is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

The White Pagoda, located atop Heming Mountain in Gaoping District East of Nanchong City, stands majestically on the banks of the Jialing River, towering into the clouds with a history of over 1,000 years. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province. The White Pagoda Park surrounding the pagoda features open terrain and enchanting scenery, serving as a radiant pearl in the city’s outskirts and a popular tourist destination. The Morning Bell at the White Pagoda is one of the Eight Great Sights of Nanchong. It enjoys widespread fame, and ancient poets have left behind numerous widely celebrated and widely recited verses. The White Pagoda, the Morning Bell, and White Pagoda Park—these three elements together form Heming Mountain, which has become a renowned scenic area not only in Nanchong but also throughout northeastern Sichuan. There are dedicated tour buses that travel through the city from the Nanchong North Railway Station in the northern suburbs to the White Pagoda Park on Heming Mountain in Jiangdong, continuously shuttling visitors back and forth. Thus, the White Pagoda, White Pagoda Park, and the Morning Bell have unintentionally added luster and charm to Nanchong—both ancient and young.
