Gaoping Yuwang Palace

Gaoping Yuwang Palace is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Yuwang Palace is located in Changle Town, Gaoping District. Constructed in the 50th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1805), it spans 1,700 square meters in area with a construction area of 1,500 square meters. This imposing building is situated on the southern bank of the Luoxi River. Elders living nearby recount that when Changle Ancient Town was initially built, imposing structures such as Wanshou Palace, Yuwang Palace, the God of Wealth Temple, the Zhuanxu Temple, the Lu Ban Hall, and the Forest Temple formed the core architectural complex of the town. Local residents would gather here for worship, trade, and handling clan affairs, making it a bustling hub. As a physical relic of ancient Chinese architecture, Yuwang Palace offers valuable insight. The opera tower within the palace is a remarkably well-preserved and rare example, providing significant research value for studies on ancient performing arts. It is truly a remarkable cultural treasure.
