The Boundless Treasure Pagoda

The Boundless Treasure Pagoda is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Constructed during the Jianlong era of the Northern Song Dynasty (960 AD), it has stood for over a thousand years. Located in the Heming Mountain Scenic Area of Gaoping District, Nanchong City, at the western end of the Jialing River Bridge, its majestic silhouette can be admired from Shunqing District.

Known locally as the "Song Dynasty White Pagoda" and originally called the "Boundless Treasure Pagoda," the 37.1-meter-tall pagoda features thirteen stories and is built in an imitation wood, closely-tiered brick style, with a square base. Its distinctive design and exquisite craftsmanship give it high historical, artistic, and cultural value. The pagoda's base is made of strip stones, the body of blue bricks, and the top of cast iron. It follows the pavilion-style bracket construction. On the east side of the tenth floor, six characters reading “建隆万寿之塔” (Jianlong Longevity Pagoda) are painted. From the second to the tenth floor, the exterior walls contain small niches—twelve columns on each level, surrounded by brick railings on the first four floors, with access for only one person to climb to the top starting from the fifth floor.

Protected area: 20 meters beyond the pagoda base.

Construction control zone: 40 meters beyond the protected area.
