Taihe Egrets

Taihe Egrets is located in Taihe Township, Jialing District, and is the first nature reserve in Nanchong City. Egrets have inhabited Taihe for nearly four hundred years, with seven species including the little egret, grey heron, Chinese pond heron, cattle egret, intermediate egret, night heron, and red-crowned crane. The little egret is the most common, while the red-crowned crane is the rarest. At their peak, egret flocks can number over twenty thousand.

The egrets make their home along the Xi River, which flows through the area. The terrain here is unique, with beautiful scenery, peculiar peaks, and unusual rocks that complement each other. In the early morning, the egrets leave in flocks, dancing gracefully through the sky; at dusk, they return to their nests, gathering in scattered groups, creating a spectacular and truly remarkable sight.
