Xih River Scenic Area

The Xih River Scenic Area is situated along the Xih River basin from Taihe Town to Shuanggui Town in Jialing District, Nanchong City, showcasing a low-mountain valley landscape. Spanning 96 kilometers, the Xih River flows slowly—sometimes murmuring through jungle and grassy meadows, other times lying still as a mirror, mirroring the verdant mountains. Three weirs on the river form small cascading waterfalls. More than 20,000 egrets make their home along the riverbanks year-round. The area boasts lush shrubbery, stunning scenery, fragrant rice fields, wild vegetables, and fluttering butterflies, offering a pleasant natural environment. It is also home to well-preserved guildhalls built during the Qing Dynasty, such as the Tianba Guildhall, as well as the Ba People’s Cave and the former site of the underground party branch of western North Sichuan. It's an ideal destination for eco-tourism and rural travel.
