Shaanxi Guild Hall in Langzhong

The Shaanxi Guild Hall in Langzhong is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Located at No. 49 Gongyuan Road, also known as the Western Shaanxi Guild Hall, it was originally the ancient Sanyuan Palace. Built in the first year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1736 AD), it now serves as the Langzhong Silkworm Breeding Farm. The main structure of the guild hall faces south and is arranged along a central axis, featuring a post-and-lintel wooden construction, single-eave hip-and-gable roof, elephant trunk-shaped bracket arms, glazed tubular tiles, carved beams and painted rafters, and gray earthen walls; the guild hall consists of a front hall, main hall, and rear hall, covering a total area of over 1,000 square meters. The front hall serves as the entrance structure, a single-eave hip-and-gable building with three bays totaling 88 square meters. The middle section is the palace gate and corridor, flanked by bell and drum towers and a theater stage. A pair of stone lions stands majestically on pedestals in front of the gate. About 100 meters past the front hall lies the middle hall (main hall), with an area of 357 square meters. The arched and sloped surfaces of the roof overlap in layers, with a flat drainage channel connecting the complex at the intersection of slopes, combining simplicity and complexity with grandeur and exquisite craftsmanship. A large bronze cauldron sits atop the ridge, symbolizing supreme divine authority. The main beam bears inscriptions indicating the date of construction. The ceiling features over a hundred painted decorations. Another 30 meters ahead of the main hall is the rear hall, connected by enclosed corridors and dry boats. The main hall is flanked by side rooms, totaling 537 square meters.

Protected area: extends south to Gongyuan Road outside the main gate, and 10 meters beyond the perimeter walls to the east, west, and north.

Construction control zone: extends 30 meters beyond the protected area.
