Former Site of the Communist Party of China’s Langnan County Committee

The former site of the Communist Party of China’s Langnan County Committee is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

The former site of the Communist Party of China’s Langnan County Committee is located in Shuiguan Town. On September 6, 1933, the political department of the 27th Division of the Fourth Red Army, in cooperation with the Soviet Government of Sichuan–Shaanxi, convened the Workers’, Peasants’ and Soldiers’ Congress for the area east of the Jialing River in Langzhong and Nanbu counties at Shuiguanchang (now Shuiguan Town), known as the First Workers’, Peasants’ and Soldiers’ Congress of Langnan County. The congress elected the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Soviet of Langnan County and established the Soviet Government of Langnan County. The county Soviet government was based in the Hu Family Courtyard near Shuiguan Town. This courtyard is a traditional Chinese quadrangle dwelling. The left corner of the courtyard features a traditional eight-character gate, and the door panels still bear marks where slogans were posted back then, largely preserved in their original state.

Protective boundary: extending southeast to the front wall of the courtyard, and northeast, southwest, and northwest to 5 meters outside the building’s drip line.

Construction control zone: using the protective boundary as the limit, extending 50 meters outward to the southeast, northeast, and southwest, and up to the mountaintop behind the courtyard to the northwest.
