Bitter Bamboo Creek

It originates from the eastern foothills of Ma’erding on Phoenix Mountain in Luojiang Town. Flowing from north to south, it successively receives two tributaries: Xiangjiagou and Shuanghekou. It empties into the Zhou River to the north of Gaojiaba, the seat of Beiwai Town, stretching a total length of 7.2 kilometers. The creek valley features crisscrossing fields and farmlands, with multiple water conservancy projects built along the stream. The Green Island Bay Scenic Area, developed using the reservoir formed by straightening and shortening the creek’s bends, has become the flagship project for tourism development along Bitter Bamboo Creek.

Luojiang Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Dachuan City. During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Qingfeng Township of Suining Prefecture. In 1940, it was established as Luojiang Township, upgraded to a town in 1952, reorganized as a commune in 1958, reinstated as a township in 1984, and re-established as a town in 1985. Located in the central part of the city, on the western bank of the Zhou River, it lies 11.5 kilometers from the municipal government. Covering an area of 52.3 square kilometers with a population of 20,000, National Highway 210 runs north-south through the town, and the Zhou River is navigable year-round. The town administers 12 village committees and residential communities, including Gaoshi, Jinfeng, Dongba, Taihe, Milin, Miaoping, Tianchi, Hongliang, Laolin, Gaoyan, Shiyan, and Hongying.
