Tiantai Mountain is located in the northern part of Hengshan Town, Qijiang District, approximately 25 km from Qijiang City and 4 km from the town government. It borders Sanjiao Town to the east, intersects with Xinsheng Town to the west, and adjoins Banan District of Chongqing to the north. Within Hengshan, the high mountain area encompasses three villages: Xinrong, Daping, and Tiantai, with Chen Mountain Village of Sanjiao Town situated at the northeastern foothills. The Tiantai Mountain tourist area primarily features a high mountain that spreads out in a four-cornered formation, surrounded by relatively flat terrain. The mountain’s base sits at an elevation of 1010 m, while the summit reaches a maximum altitude of 1361 m. The area enjoys a mild climate with abundant rainfall and distinct seasons, featuring an average annual temperature of 11°C to 17°C. Due to its high elevation, Tiantai Mountain remains pleasantly cool in summer and sees heavy snowfall in winter. The forest coverage in the Tiantai Mountain region exceeds 70%. The native forest mainly consists of species such as Masson pine, Chinese fir, Japanese cedar, and cyclobalanopsis glauca. Wild animals such as wild boar, hare, and flocks of pheasants are often spotted near the edges of Tiantai Mountain's natural woodland. Leveraging its natural tourism resources—including forests, tea plantations, and landforms—the area highlights its advantages for summer retreats and mountain pasture experiences. Development projects include constructing the Tiantai Mountain Chessboard Stone Viewing Platform, renovating Bamboo Forest Temple, restoring Tiantai Temple, upgrading the Tiantai Mountain Tea Plantation, building dry sledding tracks, rabbit netting grounds, and horse racing fields, and developing unique local products such as wild vegetables, green bamboo shoots, Hengshan Tribute Rice, and Tiantai Immortal Tea. In combination with a nursery and flower base, an agricultural sightseeing garden is also planned. The project holds significant tourism development value, making it an ideal location for eco-friendly, healthy, modern ecotourism, vacationing, and leisure entertainment.
