Qijiang Orchid Science and Technology Park

The Qijiang Orchid Garden is the first large-scale high-tech flower park in Chongqing. Once completed, it is expected to produce approximately 400,000 potted flowers for domestic sale annually, 10 million potted seedlings for export, and 10 million young orchid plants for export. Centered around the orchid industry, it will form a high-tech orchid industrial cluster integrating orchid science education, research, cultural promotion, leisure entertainment, and urban sightseeing.

Orchid cultivation differs from general crop farming and is a technology-intensive industry. Although Chongqing's climate is highly suitable for orchid growing, there has not been a large-scale orchid industry in the area before. By introducing Taiwanese orchid varieties and cultivation techniques, Qijiang’s development of the orchid industry will greatly boost the vigorous growth of its high-tech and premium agriculture, set a benchmark for localized specialty industries, and fill the gap in the presence of an orchid industrial park in Chongqing and even the entire southwestern region.
