Located on Xingmao Yudong Pedestrian Street, this oceanarium is the only marine science education base in Wanzhou District, officially recognized by the Wanzhou District Science and Technology Commission. Meticulously built by Xingmao Group, it offers a tranquil environment, a comprehensive collection of marine species, and an incredibly realistic underwater world created using advanced sound, light, and electrical technology—allowing you to wander beneath the sea and enjoy a truly unique experience.

Covering an area of 4,800 square meters, Wanzhou Oceanarium features six major marine-themed exhibition areas: the Amazon River Adventure Zone, the Underwater World Landscape Zone, the Coral Reef Fish Ecology Zone, the Marine Live Invertebrate Zone, the Crocodile Domestication Zone, and the Seal Performance Zone. The aquarium is home to a 3-meter-long shark, a 200-jin (approximately 100 kg) sea turtle, as well as over 500 species and nearly 10,000 marine creatures including seals, seahorses, walruses, gentoo penguins, humphead wrasse, stingrays, and crocodiles, presenting a vibrant underwater world. The venue also includes a touch pool, educational audiovisual facilities, and a shopping corridor, showcasing more than 1,000 rare animal and plant specimens.

Since its completion in 2003, Wanzhou Oceanarium has welcomed nearly 100,000 visitors annually and has been designated by the Chongqing Municipal Government as a “Chongqing Youth Science Education Base.” It is the largest marine biological natural museum in Southwest China that integrates ecology, tourism, and science education, and is also the most attractive tourist destination in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.
