Longxing Ancient Town is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Introduction: Longxing Town is situated in the southeastern part of Yubei District, Chongqing, approximately 36 kilometers from the city center. It is a renowned Historical and Cultural Town of Chongqing and one of the Top 100 Economic Towns in the area. The town benefits from highly developed transportation infrastructure — National Highway 210 and the Chongqing–Changsha Expressway run through the southeast, while it is connected to National Highway 319 in the north, with well-established road links to nearby towns. Within the town, facilities such as water, electricity, gas, telecommunications, dining, accommodation, markets, and overland and water transport are all readily available. It was among the first batch of towns in Yubei District to meet the "Three Modernizations" standards. The town features 12 major and minor streets that intersect neatly, with broad and clean road surfaces shaded by trees along the sidewalks. It blends urban-style amenities such as cultural and sports squares, modern office buildings, commercial pedestrian streets, central hubs, and high-mast street lamps with traditional elements including the town’s 12 streets, which form a crisscross pattern. The area boasts spacious and tidy roads lined with shady trees, along with modern urban facilities like public cultural and sports plazas, contemporary office buildings, commercial pedestrian streets, town centers, high-mast lighting, Longhu Water Park, and ecological gardens. These blend harmoniously with the old streets, traditional residences, ancestral halls, temples, and ancient stockaded villages, giving the town a unique folk culture ambiance and distinctive humanistic landscape character. Longxing Ancient Town has a history of over 600 years and is rich in cultural heritage, featuring various architectural styles. It has been home to generations of notable figures, with more than 200 cultural personalities throughout history. The town preserves many traditional folk activities such as shange (mountain songs), waist drum performances, and Sichuan opera storytelling. Local specialties include Longxing dried tofu and cured pork. Built to suit living conditions on land that is high around the edges and low in the center, the ancient architecture here is layered with well-planned and rigorously structured layouts. The air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and the town showcases a strong Bayu (Chongqing regional) cultural spirit and historical folk heritage, making it highly valuable for tourism, sightseeing, and artistic appreciation.
