Chongqing Flower Garden is situated in the northern new urban area of Chongqing. It borders Guanyinqiao in Jiangbei to the east, connects to Shimen Bridge leading to Shapingba to the west, links to Hongshi Road to the north, and offers panoramic views to the south. The location enjoys excellent transportation access — only 3 kilometers from Yuzhong District and 17 kilometers from Jiangbei Airport. Covering an area of over 15 hectares, it officially opened to visitors in March 1993. At the end of 2001, it was designated as a first-class standard park by the municipal government. Chongqing Flower Garden is a comprehensive botanical garden that integrates flower and plant exhibitions, displays, science education, amusement, and leisure. It has successfully hosted multiple flower festivals in a row, earning widespread acclaim from all sectors of society. “Visit the Flower Garden to see tulips” has become a popular spring outing trend among locals.

The Baili Flower Corridor Project in Yubei District, Chongqing, is located in a prime area of the district, adjacent to the Chongqing Northern New Town Development Zone. This project is planned along both sides of the Chongqing Airport Expressway and the Yubei Expressway. The northern and southern ends of the corridor are 3 kilometers and 50 kilometers from downtown Chongqing, respectively, and just 2 kilometers from the Cuntan Deep Water Port. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport lies at the center of the corridor. National Highways 210, 212, and 319, the Chongqing-Qianjiang Expressway, and the Chongqing-Huaihua Railway all run through the area, giving it a distinct geographical advantage and convenient transport by land, sea, and air. The corridor enjoys a mild climate, abundant rainfall, a long frost-free period, fertile land, and well-developed infrastructure including water, electricity, roads, and communications, making it an ideal place for domestic and international businesses to develop the flower industry. Within the corridor lies a key municipal project — the Chongqing Modern Agricultural Park. The project site, Yubei District, is known as a “Chongqing Mountain-Water Garden City” and a “Chongqing Model Environmental Protection District.” It has a long history of flower development and is the birthplace of Sichuan-style floriculture.

The project is planned to cover 20,000 mu by 2005 and a total of 50,000 mu by 2010. The project emphasizes high starting points, high standards, and high efficiency. It is designed to develop four major functional areas: flower production zones, sightseeing and leisure areas, flower wholesale markets, and management service areas. The flower production zone is divided into six sub-zones: premium turf production, first-grade landscaping seedling production, health-care flower production, cut flower production, edible flower production, and containerized flower production. The main construction includes fresh cut flowers, container flowers, turf, flower seedlings, edible flowers, health-care flowers, landscaping seedlings, and flower markets. The development of the Flower Corridor Project adheres to market orientation, with a focus on building an integrated system of production, processing, services, and sales. A brand-new development model featuring unified leadership, unified land leasing, unified investment attraction and subleasing, and unified management is being implemented. A diversified investment approach and a “one-stop” service management mechanism are adopted to actively attract investment, aiming to build the corridor into an urban modern agricultural base that combines ecological agriculture, floriculture, and sightseeing leisure.

Chongqing Flower Garden is a multifunctional, modern-style garden that integrates sightseeing and entertainment, scientific research and education, and demonstration planting. The garden showcases the main floral plants of the Chongqing area as well as some rare and precious flowers from around the world. It features a rich variety of flowers, innovative garden layouts, and distinctive regional characteristics.
