The Chongqing Crocodile Center is a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction.

The Chongqing Crocodile Center Scenic Area is located at No. 106 Bao Shi Road, Yubei District, approximately 8 kilometers from the city center. It covers a total area of over 33,000 square meters, with a total construction investment of more than 50 million yuan. The park features lush greenery, birdsong, fragrant flowers, winding paths, and a well-coordinated, compact layout.

Endangered Animal Research and Breeding Center / Science Education Center / Educational Tourism Center

The Chongqing Crocodile Center Scenic Area was established in the late 20th century. It is the only endangered animal research and breeding center, science education center, and educational tourism center approved by the national administrative authorities in the newly established municipality, focusing on crocodilians and tropical forest animals. It is also one of the important youth science education bases in the new municipality. The Chongqing Crocodile Center Scenic Area is located at No. 106 Bao Shi Road, Yubei District, about 8 kilometers from the Jiefangbei Central Business District, covering a total area of 33,000 square meters.

It mainly consists of the Crocodile Lake Area, Amphibian and Reptile Pavilion, Asian Giant Crocodile Pavilion, Nile Crocodile Pavilion, Animal Performance Arena, Ape Pavilion, Bird Forest, Forest Python Pavilion, Gibbon Pavilion, Marmoset Pavilion, Giant Turtle Pond, Tropical Fish Pavilion, Squirrel Monkey Island, Red Panda Island, Animal Science Exhibition Area, Rest Garden, Swan Pond, Spider Monkey Pavilion, Australian Kangaroo Pavilion, Tropical Small Monkey Pavilion, Australian Emu Pavilion, Raccoon Pavilion, Crocodile Prince Hotel, and Wildlife Baby Park. It integrates dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment for visitors, capable of receiving 6,000 to 8,000 visitors daily. The animal displays are eco-friendly and offer unobstructed viewing. Interactive activities such as bird feeding and crocodile fishing are available, providing thrilling and unique experiences. In addition to rare amphibians and reptiles like the Chinese alligator, saltwater crocodile, Siamese crocodile, Yaoshan crocodile lizard, monitor lizard, giant turtle, python, various venomous snakes, and giant salamander, the park also exhibits companion animals including squirrel monkeys, common marmosets, black-capped capuchins, tufted capuchins, bear macaques, tree shrews, kangaroos, gibbons, red pandas, emus, cockatoos, sulphur-crested cockatoos, and raccoons, totaling over a hundred species and more than a thousand individuals. Notably, the park’s four treasured rarities — the centenarian Chinese alligator, a 90-year-old five-foot giant salamander (giant Chinese salamander), a massive python weighing over 100 jin (approximately 50 kg), and a giant crocodile couple weighing a thousand jin (approximately 500 kg) — are known as the Four Treasures of the Park. These are extremely rare and highly captivating to visitors.
