Yubei Yinhé Plum Blossom Ecotourism Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yubei Yinhé Plum Blossom Ecotourism Area is located in Yinhé Village at the northern foot of Tongjing Town, Yubei District. It gets its name from a small island in the scenic area’s lake that resembles an ancient inkstone box. The area spans a total of 10.5 square kilometers, with elevations ranging from 300 to 650 meters. The region features mostly low mountains and hills, undulating peaks, layered ridges, as well as caves, ancient trees, old stockades, and temples scattered throughout. With nearly 4 square kilometers of forested land and over 10,000 mu of orchards, it is a rural ecotourism scenic area that combines ecological agriculture, leisure tourism, and religious culture.

The area is abundant in plum trees, interspersed with pear, orange, and cherry trees, offering flowers in all seasons and fruits throughout the year. Among them, plum trees are the most prominent, with a planting history of over 50 years and covering more than 10,000 mu. Every March, plum blossoms bloom in succession—viewed from afar, they look like glistening white snow, and up close, they resemble frost-covered blossoms, creating the poetic scene of “half the mountain in plum blossoms, the whole mountain in snow.” In early July, the plums ripen, with the main variety being the “Wai Zui Li” (Crooked Mouth Plum). These plums are as big as a baby’s fist, with a slightly crooked top that resembles a longevity peach. They have thin skins, easy-to-remove pits, and are crisp, sweet, and juicy. This fruit is a famous product of Chongqing and has been certified as a National Geographical Indication Product. Thanks to the delicious and abundant Wai Zui Li produced in the Yinhé area, Yubei District has been named the “Hometown of Plums in China.”

Major viewing areas include: Shuishi Dam Plum Garden, Maolingpo Plum Garden, Huoshaopo Plum Garden, and Tongxin Cypress. The scenic area is equipped with relatively complete supporting facilities, including flower-viewing paths, sightseeing pavilions, specialty farm stays, and teahouses. Flower appreciation festivals and fruit-picking festivals are held periodically according to the blooming and harvest seasons of different fruits.
