The Chongqing Yubei District Cultural Heritage Protection Center, also operating as the Chongqing Bayu Folk Customs Museum, is situated in Bijin Park on Branch Alley 2 of Shuanglong Avenue in Yubei District, Chongqing. Formed in 2016 from the former district cultural relics management office to address the growing demands of cultural heritage conservation, it functions as a comprehensive center for cultural heritage protection, research, and public education — combining cultural relics protection, ICH inheritance, and free museum access. With the mission of safeguarding and utilizing cultural heritage while promoting national culture, the center is legally mandated to undertake responsibilities such as the protection and management of cultural relics across the district, research and utilization of cultural relics, collection and preservation of intangible cultural heritage, and training related to cultural heritage protection.

The Chongqing Bayu Folk Customs Museum was completed in 1997 and is a national third-tier museum that offers free admission to the public. After renovation in 2015, it features a Folk Customs Hall and an Ancient Beds Hall. The Folk Customs Hall, themed around “folk customs,” showcases traditional farming practices, material life, wedding rituals, and folk beliefs of the Bayu region. The Ancient Beds Hall, reconstructed from the museum’s wedding courtyard, centers on the theme of “ancient beds” and displays exquisitely carved wooden furniture, including distinctive antique beds from the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty to the Republican era in the Bayu area. With its refined exhibitions and strong regional cultural character, the museum has become an important showcase for promoting the image of Yubei and the culture of Bayu. In 2018, the Yubei Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall was established, featuring two permanent exhibitions: "Yubei Historical and Cultural Exhibition" and "Craftsmanship—Bayu Wooden Art Culture Exhibition," which respectively highlight the regional history and culture of Yubei and its unique wooden art traditions.
