Coconut Grove Li & Miao Cultural Village, situated in Yingzhou Town, Lingshui County, at the exit of the East Expressway, is an off-site man-made theme park built in 2001. Covering 40 acres and located 22 kilometers from downtown Lingshui, it is a multifunctional destination that combines history, folklore, and tourism. The village offers performances of Li ethnic wedding ceremonies; exhibitions of Li and Miao daily utensils and totem culture; Li archery shows; traditional “Dingdong” entertainment; boat rides at Boat Row Tail; Li and Miao farmsteads; demonstrations of Li brocade weaving; and large-scale song and dance performances by the Li and Miao peoples. Yingzhou Coconut Grove Li & Miao Cultural Village has played a significant role in promoting Li and Miao cultures and has made valuable contributions to Hainan’s tourism industry.
