Diaoluoshan National Forest Park is located in the southeastern part of Hainan Island, spanning five cities and counties: Lingshui, Baoting, Qiongzhong, Wuzhishan, and Wanning, with a total area of 38,000 hectares. It is one of China’s rare pristine tropical rainforest regions. In October 1994, it was approved as a provincial-level Diaoluoshan Forest Park, and in May 1999, it was officially designated as a national forest park by the State Forestry Administration. It is the largest forest park in eastern Hainan and features six major tropical rainforest plant wonders along with a high-quality ecological environment. The park boasts a wealth of high-quality forest landscapes, including pristine lakes and mountains, rolling peaks, cascading waterfalls and pools, towering ancient trees, exotic flowers and plants, as well as unique caves and rocks. These elements combine to offer resources rich in natural authenticity, scientific value, biodiversity, and recreational appeal. There are over a hundred waterfalls in the park, including the province’s tallest waterfall— the 350-meter-high Fengguoshu Waterfall Cluster. The park is also home to an incredibly rich diversity of flora and fauna, making it a true “treasure trove of plants.” With an average annual rainfall of around 2,400 mm, a cool climate year-round, and an average temperature of just 20°C, Diaoluoshan is an ideal destination for sightseeing, leisure, and vacationing all year round. It offers warm winters and cool summers with flowers blooming in every season. The area is also a perfect “natural oxygen bar” and “natural recovery center” for those seeking relaxation, wellness, and rejuvenation.
