Xiangshui Bay is located at the foot of Niu Ridge, the boundary between the northern and southern climates of Hainan Island, in the eastern part of Lingshui County.

It gets its name from the spring water that flows down from Xiangshui Ridge into the bay. Adjacent to Shimei Bay in Wanning City and facing Fenjuezhou Island in the distance, the area still retains its pristine coastal scenery. As you step into Xiangshui Bay, the first things that catch your eye are the lush coconut groves, followed by the endless stretch of silver-white sandy beach — low areas lie like a carpet, while higher ones rise into small dunes. Xiangshui Bay is relatively quiet; as you walk along the coastline, the sound of the waves fills your ears.

Transportation Guide

By Car

Starting from Haikou, take the Hainan Eastern Expressway. The entrance to Xiangshui Bay is at the 182-kilometer mark.

By Bus

To get to Xiangshui Bay, you can take a bus from Haikou to Lingshui or Sanya, and get off at the Niu Ridge intersection since there’s no refund for exiting early. Taking the bus to Lingshui is more economical. From Niu Ridge to Xiangshui Bay, it’s best to hitch a ride at the intersection; the fare is about 5 RMB.

By Taxi

A taxi from downtown Sanya costs approximately 100–150 RMB, while from Sanya Airport to Xiangshui Bay it’s around 180 RMB.

By Tricycle

You can also reach Xiangshui Bay by tricycle, with fares around 4 RMB.
