Nanwan Flower Town Lantern Festival

Nanwan Flower Town is located in Lingshui County and is a triangular plum blossom-themed tourist attraction that integrates sightseeing, gourmet food, accommodation, amusement parks, and other leisure and entertainment activities. The first phase covers an area of 3,000 acres. The park houses over 400,000 triangular plum blossoms, the provincial flower of Hainan, spanning more than 80 varieties, making it currently the most diverse and comprehensive triangular plum cultivation base in China in terms of both variety and quantity.

The “First Hainan Provincial Large-Scale International Triangular Plum (Qionghua) Themed Lantern Festival” will grandly open on New Year’s Day 2017. This lantern festival consists of 800,000 triangular plum blossoms and hundreds of oversized traditional Zigong lanterns. With the artistic concept of “flowers as the essence, lanterns as the medium,” it showcases a perfect blend of flower seas and light seas, incorporating elements such as historical and cultural stories, revolutionary journeys, the Belt and Road Initiative, mythological legends, as well as ancient-modern collisions featuring dinosaurs and Transformers. What unfolds before visitors is a dazzling, colorful world. It offers an enchanting experience where one can linger amid seas of flowers and lights, feeling as if in a fairyland.
