Xincun Port

Xincun Port is a large and enclosed inland sea, with a narrow entrance on one side leading to Xincun Village and on the other to Nanzhan Village. The famous Nanzhan Monkey Island is located on the mountain in Nanzhan Village, while the fishing harbor is on the Xincun Village side. Xincun Port is an exhilarating place where fishermen load large groupers from small sampans onto trucks on the shore, and then you can go and see the fishing boats docked at the pier. Moreover, the deep-water area near the inner sea exit is densely packed with net cages used for fish farming—these are the famous Danjia (pronounced "dan") fishing rafts. To make things convenient and for easier supervision, the fish farmers have built movable cabins on their rafts and even made their homes on them. Some have also set up sunshades and opened seafood restaurants. Eating seafood on the rafts is straightforward—you can just order directly from the net cages. There are many such Danjia fishing raft restaurants.
