Qiaoshan Site

The Qiaoshan Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Qiaoshan Site is located in Lingshui County, Hainan Province. It is the largest prehistoric site discovered in Hainan to date. Its vast area, rich stratification, abundant artifacts, and excellent preservation are extremely rare throughout South China.

The average thickness of the cultural layer at the Qiaoshan Site is about 3 to 4 meters. The distribution of cultural remains is especially concentrated in the central area of the site, mainly comprising a large number of open-mouthed or flanged red-brown sandy pottery shards, several polished stone axes, polished stone rings, and suspected traces of burials. Preliminary observations suggest that the surface of the site is covered with 0.4 to 0.5 meters of fine sand, with the majority of the area well-preserved. Exposed cultural deposits can be seen in certain locations and on terrace cliff faces. The total area of the site is approximately 50,000 square meters, with the central area covering about 20,000 square meters.

In 2019, the Qiaoshan Site was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Xincun Town: Areas such as Wan. Vigorously develop offshore deep-water cage aquaculture. Last year, three aquaculture households in our town engaged in deep-water anti-wave lift-type cage farming offshore, deploying a total of 15 sets and 60 net openings, raising over 130,000 high-quality fish fry. Sales began in early this year, achieving good economic returns. In 2005, the town sold a total of 3,837 tons of marine aquaculture products (including 1,280 tons of live fish, 495 tons of live shrimp, and 10,728 tons of Gracilaria), generating a production value of 107.28 million yuan, representing increases of 4.5% and 6.2% respectively compared to the previous year.
