Liji Qingpi Forest Nature Reserve—The Liji Qingpi Forest Nature Reserve in Wanning City covers an area of 16,000 mu and was established in July 1980. The primary purpose of establishing this reserve is to protect the valuable Qingpi tree species in Hainan’s tropical forests. The Qingpi tree belongs to the Dipterocarpaceae family, can grow up to 30 meters tall, with a diameter at breast height of up to 1.2 meters. It has a straight trunk and bluish-gray bark, hence the name. This tree species features hard wood that is resistant to decay and moisture, making it an excellent material for constructing bridges and ships as well as crafting fine wooden items.
